Machame Gate to Machame Camp

Machame Gate

Register at the gate and trek through montane rainforest to Machame Camp. Evening briefing with your guide team.

Machame to Shira Camp

Shira Plateau

Steep climb through heath and moorland zones with views of Shira Plateau. Acclimatization walk in the afternoon.

Shira to Lava Tower to Barranco

Barranco Camp

Climb to Lava Tower (4,600m) for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp. Classic 'walk high, sleep low' day.
