Overview

The Great Rift Valley is one of the world's most spectacular geological features — a 6,000-kilometre crack in the Earth's crust whose Kenyan stretch cradles a necklace of soda and freshwater lakes teeming with wildlife. This circuit links four iconic lakes: Naivasha for hippo boat rides and Crescent Island walks; Elementaita for flamingos and pelicans on a Ramsar wetland; Nakuru for the famous rhino sanctuary and tree-climbing lions; and Bogoria for geysers and flamingo spectacles. Each lake reveals a different facet of the Valley's extraordinary biodiversity.
